On Thursday, August 28th, kindergarten students will have the opportunity to ride the bus, meet their teachers, and visit the kindergarten classrooms. This can be in addition to or in place of the Back-to-School Open House. Buses will arrive at pick-up locations one hour after the typically scheduled time and bring incoming kindergarten students and a parent to Saccarappa from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. Students who will not be riding the bus this year are still welcome to attend.
Welcome letters from classroom teachers have been sent out! Be sure to check your mail for this back-to-school information.
If you are an incoming kindergarten family and do not receive a letter, then your child's registration may not be complete. Please call Saccarappa's office after August 11th to finish the process.

The Saccarappa Cheer Club was gifted a New England Patriots football signed by David Andrews from the New England Patriots cheerleaders! The Cheer Club is raffling it off as a fundraiser to support next year's cheer season. Each $10 raffle ticket will provide a future cheerleader with a t-shirt and bow.
The winner of the raffle will be chosen at the end of the End of Year Family Picnic on Monday evening. You do not need to be present to win. Tickets will be available for purchase during the picnic and can also be purchased online using the following link.

The school garden club needs help this summer with maintaining our school garden area. Families who volunteer would be responsible for basic garden care, weeding, and watering. If you would like to volunteer, please email one of the Garden Club teachers below and select the week(s) that would fit into your summer schedule. I am pleased to let you know that I will nominate Lisa Krunkala as the next Assistant Principal for Saccarappa School at the next School Committee meeting on June 11. She will replace Bonnie Hicks who is retiring. A graduate of Westbrook High School, Lisa has been in the district since 1999. She has served as an Ed Tech III at Canal School, a Special Education Teacher at Saccarappa School, a Special Education Teacher and Department Leader at Westbrook High School, the Special Programs Coordinator at Spring Harbor Academy and State Client Coordinator for the school department, and currently as Assistant Director of Special Services. Lisa earned her BS in Elementary Education at the University of Maine and her MSEd in Educational Leadership at the University of Southern Maine. She is excited to join Principal Alexis Jones and the staff as well as the students and families to continue building our amazing Saccarappa community. Please join me in welcoming Lisa to Saccarappa School!
