New Month, New Theme: Belonging!
Today we had our first school-wide assembly where we rolled out our new theme of Belonging. We went over expectations for our assemblies, and we talked about what belonging can look like around the school.
To model belonging, Mr. Bisson, Mrs. Proulx, and Mr. Pillow acted out a scene at recess where students were not showing belonging. Our cougars were encouraged to share ideas on how the skit could be more inclusive, and then teachers changed the skit to make it more inclusive.
For the month of September, students are earning apple stickers whenever they are caught being kind and inclusive! Students can put these apple stickers on posters throughout the building, and we have a goal of 500 by the end of the month.
Our cougars did a fantastic job at our assembly! We can't wait to see how many apples our cougars earn this month!
