Good Morning Congin Cougar Families,
Happy Wednesday, and welcome to November! I hope your week, and your month, are off to a wonderful start. As always, there’s a lot happening here at Congin, and I wanted to take a moment to share a few important updates and reminders with you for the week ahead:
It's Wednesday, so that means that it is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 2:30.
Thursday is our first day of Parent Teacher Conferences, which also means that it is a half day for students. Students will be dismissed at 11:30. Additionally, Westbrook Learns will not be taking place on Thursday, so please make sure you have a plan for your child. If you are planning on having your child take the bus, you MUST call the transportation office to let them know (207-854-0807).
We had a whole-school assembly on Monday to roll out our new theme of gratitude. We had our lunch ladies join us and select students were able to model how we can show gratitude for the people in our lives and the things they do for us. For the month, we are having a food/snack drive so that we can help families in need within our community. I have attached a flyer of items that we are collecting for this food/snack drive. Please call the office if you have any questions!
Westbrook Fire Department came to our school on Tuesday and provided a Fire Safety presentation to all of our Congin Cougars! Thank you to the Westbrook Fire Department for making time to do this for our students!
Our next PTO meeting will be on Monday, November 10th at 5:30pm in the Congin cafeteria. If you would like to attend virtually, this is the meeting link!
Our PTO's yearly Silent Auction will be taking place from November 2nd-November 9th! Check out this link for available items to bid on. Additionally, on November 9th from 2-5pm, we will have an in-person Silent Auction at Westport Bowling! Come and enjoy some bowling while bidding on some auction items. Attendees will be responsible for lane rentals. We are also still accepting donations for our themed boxes. I have attached the flyer to check out the themes for each grade level.
There will be no school next Tuesday, November 11th for Veterans Day!
We will be on break from November 26th-November 28th, so there will be no school.
We are having a Congin Spirit Wear Sale for anyone that would like to purchase Congin apparel. If you are interested in ordering some Congin gear, check out this website and order from now until 11/14!
