Good Morning Congin Cougar Families,
Happy Wednesday! We have been so incredibly lucky with our weather for the start of the school year. I hope you and your families have been able to get outside and enjoy the warm weather.
Here are some updates for this week:
It is Wednesday, so that means it is an early release day! Students will be dismissed at 2:20, and parent pick up will start at 2:25. Please make sure you have a plan for your child to get home or get picked up.
Speaking of parent pick up and bus pick ups...if you are changing your child's plan for the afternoon, please make sure to notify the office before 1pm. Additionally, please do not plan to pick up your child from 3:00-3:15. If you come during that time, we may ask you to wait, as this is an extremely busy time in our school as students are getting ready to pack up, UAs are finishing up, and services are getting completed. If you are planning on picking up your child early, please plan to do so before 3pm. Thank you for your help on this.
Next Friday, October 3rd, our kindergarten cougars will be participating in a district-wide event called Meet at the 50. Our kindergarten cougars will be going to the high school football field where seniors will be giving kindergarteners a t-shirt, representing and symbolizing the end of the seniors time in Westbrook and the start of the kindergartners' time in Westbrook. This will take place at 10:15am, and we invite community members and families to attend! We hope to see you there!
On Saturday, October 4th, our PTO will be participating in an Ace Hardware fundraising opportunity where we will be serving hot dogs and hamburgers for any donations from the community. If you donate, you will be able to get a coupon for 20% off your next purchase at Ace Hardware.
Thank you to all of those who participated in our Twin Swirlz fundraiser last Sunday! It was a great turnout and we appreciate you supporting our Congin PTO!
Don't forget that Ted McInerney, meteorologist from WMTW, will be coming to Congin on October 8th! Students and families are invited to come to the live broadcast at 5:45am! This is something we have done every year, and the students get excited to have an opportunity to be on TV. This year, we will even have hot cocoa and some treats for students to enjoy! We hope that you will be able to join us.
October 10th will be a professional development day for staff and teachers. There will be no school for students on this day.
Monday, October 13th is Indigenous People's Day and there will be no school on this day as well.
School Picture Day is coming up! We will be having picture day on October 17th. Once we get ordering forms from Strawbridge, we will send them out to families.
It's a great day to be a cougar!
Sincerely,
Marc Bisson
