Good Morning Congin Cougar Families,
Happy Wednesday, and Happy start to April! Can you believe we are in April already? This year continues to fly by, but we have a lot of exciting things coming up. Here are some updates for this week:
-It is Wednesday, so that means it is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 2:30.
-Yesterday we had a whole school assembly where we celebrated our work with perseverance. Students were challenged to 500 spots of perseverance and they ended up getting 721 spots of perseverance! We will celebrate by having a special guest come to Congin today called the Ned Show, which talks about perseverance, kindness, etc. through the lens of learning how to yo-yo!
-We also rolled out our new theme of inclusivity. Students learned what it means to be inclusive at our assembly, and students will be given a bingo board of various actions that are inclusive. When students complete one of these actions, they can color it in on their bingo board. Once they have completed their bingo board, they can turn it into the office and get a shoutout on morning announcements. We are aiming for 200 completed bingo boards by the end of the month!
-Join us for a Math Night at Congin School from 5:30-6:30pm on April 7th! There will be an information session for parents, and there will be a variety of hands-on math activities for students and families to participate in!
-Congin is having a UA night on Monday, April 14th from 5-6pm. Come enjoy some STEAM, Music, Art, and PE activities, as well as peruse the bookstore in the library!
-The Westbrook Performing Arts Center will be hosting Diana Graber to discuss with families how we can help children build healthy relationships with technology! This will be happening on Thursday, April 3rd at 5:30 for any families that are interested.
-Just a reminder that we have a half day of school on Thursday, April 17th. Students will be dismissed from school at 11:30.
-We have no school on April 18th, and we will be out of school April 21st -25th for April break! Our office will be closed during this time.
-It's a great day to be a cougar!
Sincerely,
Marc Bisson
