Good Morning Congin Cougar Families,
Happy Wednesday! I hope you are all having a great week so far! Here are some updates for this week:
Your child will be coming home today with "Census Pages." The first pages explains what to do, but please take a look at your contact information and make any adjustments. For instance, if your address is incorrect because you moved, please correct the address. Same thing with any phone numbers or emails.
PTO will be meeting on Tuesday, October 15th at 5:30 in the Congin cafeteria for anyone that would like to attend. Speaking of PTO, our Ace Hardware fundraiser was extremely successful and we were able to raise over $775. Thank you to all of the families who may have attended and donated!
Just a reminder that we will not have school this Friday, October 11th, and Monday, October 14th. Additionally, our office will be closed, so no one will be at school to answer the phone.
We had 33 fourth grade students apply to be a Den Ambassador, which is a group of students at Congin who are role models and are dedicated to making Congin a better place. Each week, they have lunch with Mr. Bisson to plan projects and discuss different ways to make Congin better. After applying and interviewing, we have our 10 Den Ambassadors. Congratulations to Mae Richardson, Peter Maxime, Cora Stevenson, Finn Preston, Scarlotte Sok, Austin Swindler, Aubrey Patterson, Rafaela
Mpeho, Rhode Mavungu, and Delia Shaw!
Students had a fire prevention and 911 information session yesterday with our local firefighters. Students were a great audience and learned a lot about safety!
Picture day will be on October 18th!
Halloween is coming up, and some classes may be planning some activities or parties. The students do not know this yet, but if we reach our goal of 500 responsibility apples, students will be able to come to school dressed as their favorite book character on 10/31. We plan on telling students this on 10/24, but if you want to start planning a costume, I figured I would give you all some notice!
Our average attendance for last week was 94.33%. It's important for students to be at school when they are not sick, so please continue to send your kids to school.
It's a great day to be a cougar!
Sincerely,
Marc Bisson
Principal
