Westbrook School Department

Congratulations to our WHS Jazz Musicians! 45 students from Westbrook High School performed at the State Jazz Festival this weekend at Hamden Academy. The goal is to score 95 or higher to receive a gold medal. Very few groups in the state achieve this standard. The Jazz Band (our younger students) received a silver medal with scores of 93 93 92. The Jazz Ensemble received a gold medal with scores of 98 98 96! The Tuesday Combo and Thursday Combo earned gold medal as well with scores between 94-96. The Outstanding Musician award, a State Title, was awarded to Orguy T. Additionally, four WHS students were named Outstanding Soloists: Gracie G., Dash C., Nico A., and Gavin M. Congratulations on an amazing accomplishment!
